Children between the ages of 8 and 11 are at a peak stage for nervous system development. This means that most of their body awareness, coordination, movement mechanics and balance will be developed by the age of 12 making it a critical time for youth athletes to learn HOW to move properly and to learn to LOVE being active. This 60 minute program will focus on developing movement not muscle. Balance, agility, quickness, core stability, posture, reactivity and strength will be trained through fun and challenging drills. energy system developmentesd
In most of today's youth sports one the main limiting factors is aerobic/anaerobic conditioning. Team practices are spent focussing on tactics and skill development and conditioning is often skipped or added in without proper considerations to work to rest ratios, or specific drills that match what the athlete actually needs. Many athletes do not show their true talent because their energy systems are not developed enough for them to execute the skill they have when they are fatigued. ESD is a 60 minute sessions will focus on building both aerobic and anaerobic energy systems through multi-directional interval training, linear intervals, hill running, bike sprinting, agility skill circuits, and muscular endurance training.
