Jeff Roux

Jeff Roux B.P.E.; CSCS; TSCC-Gold

Jeff is a co-owner, COO and Director of Sports Conditioning for the Twist Sport Conditioning Centre. He has worked with Twist in various capacities since the Spring of 2001 including coaching at the High Performance Hockey camps in North Vancouver and working with the education department as one of the primary writers for the Twist Sport Conditioning Certification courses. Jeff’s background boasts a wide range of experience coaching everyone from professional and elite level athletes to young athletes and weekend warriors. Jeff spends his down time with his family, on one of his bikes, trail running in the Durham Forest or playing volleyball.

Heather Pereira

Heather Pereira, B.PhysED CSCS, Stott Pilates, Schwinn, TSCC-Gold

Heather is the Marketing and Service Manager at the Twist Sport Conditioning Centre in Whitby as well as a senior Twist conditioning coach. She has coached a variety of athletes from hockey to soccer players. Heather is also the coach and founder of a local non-profit running group called the Running Maniacs. The group has progressed into a bike club, the Maniac Road Riders who train for Duathlons and Triathlons. Heather enjoys coaching a variety of age level athletes ranging from youth to adult. Heather also oversees the Product Operations and distribution at Twist. In her spare time, you can find Heather running, biking, or swimming. Heather’s next goal is to become a Certified Yoga Teacher.

 


Jesse Cook

Jesse Cook BKin, CAT (c) TSCC Gold

Jesse has quickly become a renowned Hockey Conditioning Specialist in the Durham region. After completing his 4 year career playing Provincial Junior A Hockey in the OPJHL, and at York University, Jesse has worked with a variety of different athletes from a variety of sports but his main passion and expertise is hockey. Jesse is senior Twist dryland coach and head on-ice instructor for the Twist Summer High Performance Hockey Camp.

Todd Aitken

Todd Aitken, Fire Protection Engineering Technician, B.Sc (Fire Services c), TSCC Gold

Todd brings a wealth of experience as a conditioning coach to the Twist SCC. He has trained a variety of athletes from hockey, soccer, judo and football players, to police and fire fighters. Todd enjoys coaching both youth and elite athletes. Todd is also a professional fire fighter and competes in the fire fighting combat challenge at the national and world’s since 2003. In his spare time Todd enjoys running and biking in the woods with his dogs, traveling and learning new things.

Adam Balan

Adam Balan BSc. (Honours), TSCC Gold

 

Adam is an extremely dedicated conditioning coach who blends his professional athletic perspective with his passion for coaching , creating an addictive, high-energy coaching style that harnesses the best efforts his athletes have to offer. He currently teaches Anatomy and Physiology at Durham College in Oshawa. He earned an honours BSc (Pre-Med Track) degree while attending California University of Pennsylvania on a baseball scholarship. He received NCAA Academic All-American honours his junior year in baseball. Upon graduating, Adam pursued an international baseball career, playing professionally in Australia, Sweden and Western Canada. He also works as a baseball instructor, teaching the mechanics and mental aspects of hitting to Aspiring Durham area ballplayers.

Kristin Smart BKin, Masters of Teaching, TSCC Gold

Kristin graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honours Specialization degree in Kinesiology. She is currently completing her Master of Teaching at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (U of T). Growing up playing competitive hockey and soccer, she made the switch to lacrosse after moving to Whitby. After completing 3 years on the women’s varsity lacrosse team at UWO, she is now competing with U of T. Kristin comes to Twist following a year working as a Kinesiologist, and is enjoying the opportunity to combine her love of teaching and coaching with athletics.

 

Nancy Gough RN, FIS, Reebok Cycle Instructor, TSCCL1.

Nancy has been teaching fitness for thirteen years, although she has been athletic throughout her life. Her greatest achievement was playing OCAA volleyball leading the team to a bronze medal. She has been a sport conditioning coach for 3 years while taking her Twist certifications. She is excited to be part of the Twist SCC Whitby team to help develop youth and adults alike to become well rounded athletes in sport and life. In her spare time, Nancy homeschools her three children, works in the emergency department at the local hospital, and her newest passion is in running the trails of the Oak Ridges Moraine.
